Mobile repeater
レピーター repītā
Carrier-managed equipment that receives an available outdoor mobile signal and repeats it indoors to improve coverage in part of a building.
A repeater needs a usable donor signal and correct placement. It does not create new network capacity or replace a failed base station, and it may not solve congestion. The carrier surveys or assesses the location and decides which radio solution is appropriate.
Do not buy an unapproved booster. Radio equipment that transmits on licensed mobile frequencies can cause interference and must comply with Japanese law and the carrier's network design. Loaned equipment normally has return rules when you move or stop using it.
