New electricity contract
電気の新規契約 denki no shinki keiyaku
Starting electricity supply for a location where you are not simply switching the retailer of an already active contract.
For a move, apply before the desired start date with the address, supply-point information if known, start date, contract capacity, contact details and payment method. A remote smart-meter operation may be enough, but locked equipment, missing wiring or a non-smart meter can require attendance or network-operator work.
Do not confuse move-in activation with switching an active home from one retailer to another. If the property still has another occupant's active contract, the retailer or network operator may need to resolve the old contract before a new start can complete.
