Can I choose ahamo immediately?
You can apply for ahamo directly — as a new contract or by MNP. You do NOT have to sign a standard DOCOMO plan first and then switch. That said, the exact steps can differ depending on the application route, the shop, how you buy the device, and any campaign, so some cases need extra procedures.

- At DOCOMO shops, paid services such as "ahamo WEB application support" and "ahamo WEB procedure support" may be offered: staff sit with you while YOU operate the ahamo site. This is assistance, not a full counter procedure, and a service fee applies.
- Day-to-day support is designed around the website, the app and chat. There is no standard DOCOMO call-centre channel for ahamo.
- The service area is based on DOCOMO's network, but supported functions, congestion controls and support channels differ from standard DOCOMO plans.
