Registered alias / common name
通称名・通名登録 tsūshōmei / tsūmei tōroku
Use of a legally recorded common name instead of, or together with, the legal name on a contract. Acceptance differs by carrier and application channel.
The safest online application is an exact match to the name shown on the identity document. Differences in Roman letters, kanji, katakana, old and new character forms, spaces or middle-name placement can cause eKYC rejection.
Some carriers accept a registered alias only at a shop and only when an eligible identity document shows both the legal name and the alias. For example, Rakuten Mobile publishes specific shop-only conditions and does not accept a common-name application on the web. Confirm the rule before reserving a visit.
